"The report says FEMA basically did nothing to verify the identity or address of hundreds of thousands of aid recipients. One individual managed to collect 18 emergency payments of $2,000 using the same name, 18 different Social Security numbers and 12 bogus addresses."

I'm not a fan of how FEMA handled the disaster. No human, or animal for that matter, should endure what the people went through. The emergency debit card of $2,000.00 was to help the victims buy essentials (remember that word). Why did a woman have to fight for months to get her emergency aid while another received-- $36,000.00?

When you click on one of the links, it continues to tell you how some of the debit cards were used. Some of the money was used for essentials like, adult entertainment and massage parlors.

Because, you know, after losing my house, sex would be the first thing on my list! WTF?

"I've lost everything I own. Here's $30.00, rub my toes."

A lot of people are pointing fingers at FEMA. Shame on FEMA for not being more systematic. The problem with pointing fingers is that it takes the spot light off of another issue. Don't put the people that abused the system in a jail. Have them do community service, say like, clean debris that still remains in the city.
