With the family's consent, ABC taped hundreds of hours of interaction between the Nelsons of Lake Placid, N.Y., for a story on stepfamilies. On Friday night it aired tape of an argument during which Kyle's father, Joe, lunged at her, slapped her, then punched her five times while kneeling atop her.

I am alarmed that ABC did not report this, upon first viewing the tape. The anger that Joe Bigtimeloser Nelson demonstrated, was uncontrollable. I highly doubt that this was, a one time incident.

ABC's level of reporting was no different than the paparazzi chasing Princess Diana out on a date. Anything, to get a story.

Any imbecile could see that the daughter was abused. The producers of ABC should be charged for child endangerment.
